Dedication: Mary Feagans
Mary Feagans is one of the people most devoted to this school, and for the reason we have decided to dedicate this year's Vestige to her. Mrs. Feagan's role at the school is not clearly defined; she has no title which sets out her duties. Perhaps the best way to define her role is as a public relations person and as a mother.
Every senior who has graduated over the past nine years has had Mrs. Feagans to thank for a superior ceremony. She begins the process in early January by organizing the gradua- tion invitations for all the seniors. She then makes certain that every award is in good taste and carefully prepared. She readies everything with a priority unmatched by Ms. Man- ner~She tops it all off in June ~ith the actual ceremony.
For the rest of the school she organizes the two parents' weekends that the school holds every year. She organizes each parent's schedule at the school, and insures that there are always several receptions in town. If there are any com- plications, parents always know that they can go to Mrs. Feagans for help.
Mrs. Feagans also heads up the school's Mother's Com-
Mother's Committee, a group of student's mothers. They provide all of the birthday cakes for the boarders who have their birthday at the school. They also added the mirrors to the school's weight room last year. In addition, they added the carpeting to the dorm lounges this year.
Mrs. Feagans takes it upon herself to decorate the school every year for the holidays. From Thanksgiving to Christmas she can be seen making wreaths or bows, and putting up decorations for the tree in Jett parlour. She insures that the school puts on a Christmasy face, something that most students would miss if it was not for her efforts.
She has for the past few years been responsible for the stu- dent directory, a publication listing all the student body's ad- dresses. A very long and painstaking process, she manages it on her own every year. She sends the directory out every year just before Christmas break along with a card drawn up b y a student.
In many ways Mrs. Feagans is responsible for services pro- vided at the school. Most of the students take these services for granted, but feel she deserves recognition this year.
