"Since it's inception in 1916, V.E.S has striven to prepare its students for the varied challenges of life. Over the years the curriculum has evolved to embody the old Greek idea of "a sound mind in a sound body." A rigorous academic program and hard physical exercise through team and individual sports have created the balance which Aristotle called "The Golden Mean."
In this seventieth year of our history, V.E.S. is again taking a great stride into the future with the inclusion of full-time female students. Old habits die hard, but the facul- ty, student body and alumni have willingly accepted the challenge of co-education.
Already their predictions have proven correct and V.E.S. is more representative of the reality of everyday life than it has even been. With this in mind the Vestige staff has chosen as its theme "Greater Strides."
