  • Description:  Also known as Black's Tavern was built around 1910 on the corner of Fifth and Madison Streets. It was beyond the city limits and served travelers along the Salem Turnpike. When photo was made in 1958 it had been altered into apartments. The portion on the left was the oldest and held the apartment of Mrs. Martha Rivers Adams, local author and historian.
