Welcome to our Historic Districts Enjoy the diverse architecture
that comprises the seven Historic Districts of Lynchburg—Court House Hill, Daniel’s Hill, Diamond Hill, Federal Hill, Garland Hill, Pierce Street Renaissance and Rivermont Avenue. From the early Quaker conservative influence,
to elaborate Victorian statements of opulence, the rich heritage of residential life in Lynchburg comes alive in the architecture here. Restoration and revitalization of these important eighteenth- and nineteenth-century neighborhoods is underway. This elaborate col- lection of Federal, Greek Revival, Gothic, Georgian and Victorian architecture is listed on the National Register of Historic Places maintained by the Department of the Interior.
Please remember that most of these sites are private homes and offices. The building interiors and surrounding grounds are not ordi- narily open to public tour. Historic Home tours and special events in the Historic Districts are scheduled periodically.
