Modified Italianate. Home of the architect r. C. Burkholder. This Y- shaped house is the first and more interesting of his personal residences.

Vernacular. originally owned by John J. Watson and occupied by John Gilbert roberts and his wife in 1874. The robertses formed what was to become the First Christian Church in Lynchburg by holding Sunday after- noon meetings in their home.

Stick Style. Note the elaborate cast iron porch. Seemingly an Italian villa, this house is a combination of stylistic elements, with a mansarded tower, stick-style decoration and elaborate cast-iron porch.
