LYNCH’S FERRY EDITORIAL NOTE:
In July 1947, Volume I, Number 1 of Center Circular, “published by the Board of Directors of the Child Care Center, Inc., Lynchburg, Virginia,” appeared. The top two-thirds of its front page is reproduced above.
“We wish to present through the first issue of this paper a picture of the Center from its beginning in
May 1943 to the present time,” stated a brief editorial on page two of the four-page newsletter. “It is our hope that this small paper, which will be printed four times a year, will keep the many friends, patrons, and parents of the children at the center informed concerning the growth, improvements, and plans of this community project.”
At the bottom of the Center Circular’s first page, below the group picture, began a brief history of the Child Care Center, which is reproduced here, beginning on the following page.
