This is the same building that still stands next to the Academy Theatre
at 600 Main Street. It was modernized in the 1960s with a plain brick front and aluminum-framed windows. By the 1980s the “modern” look was dated, and the building got a Colonial face with the multi-pane win- dows and shutters that it now has. The building stands on the site of the Ladies Relief Hospital, founded in 1862 by Capt. Lucy Mina Otey. Photo by S.O.
